DAIHAKKEN!

If you haven’t seen Eve no Jikan, you won’t understand this. If you have seen it, you will. And this will probably help with a lot of confusion that the show leaves in the minds of a lot of people. Then again, it’ll also add to the confusion. This discovery of mine compelled me to think new things about the show and the things it’s explored. Also: second season plzkthx.

I’m sure you’ve all seen this screenshot. This is from the last episode of the OVA series, featuring the unedited article of the original Tokisaka Incident. I originally thought that the name, Tokisaka Incident, was derived from the fact that the incident occurred a place called Tokisaka. While I was checking through signs to be typesetted for the EnJ movie, I noticed the article once again. This time, I paid more attention to it. On a random urge, I visited the Eve no Jikan website (http://timeofeve.com/) and checked the Character page. The character page lists whether characters are humans or robots and I thought it was odd how Akiko was listed as unknown, so I did a bit of checking.

Upon comparing the photo of the girl in the article with Akiko’s photo on the website, I realized that Akiko is the said girl. The kanji caption underneath the image is blurred (by the creators) so I couldn’t really tell when I first saw it, but after looking at it very closely, I figured it that this is what it says:

常坂アキコちゃん

Translated, that reads: Tokisaka Akiko-chan. In other words, the 5 year old girl that was injured was Tokisaka Akiko. The incident was actually named after the person involved, not the place.

Yeah, just wanted to share.

Summer Tales

A lot has happened recently. France lost, Australia lost, South Korea lost, North Korea lost, England tied (twice :|), etc. But aside from the World Cup, a lot of stuff have happened as well. I finally got a few TLC projects out of the way (happy now, kureshii?) and cleared about 40 GB of free space! I also bought Mirror’s Edge and Mass Effect on Steam. EA Week FTW!

BakaBT

Some controversy and dorama with a recent announcement that has since been removed. To clarify, I in no way support the venture that is possibly a scam and is owned by someone who is possibly a convicted pedophile.

But that aside, I’ve been having a pretty awesome time at BakaBT. I finally got two long time projects done. The Hayate no Gotoku manga is now uploaded. And at long last. I’m still working on the music collections, and rest assured they will be done! Sometime…

Another project that is finally underway is the Great BakaBT Pokemon Cleanup! With the upload of this torrent, I began yet another project that will take me ages and distract me from all my other projects. Not to mention I still have a Pokemon fansub project that should be happening.

Fansubbing & Such (& Recruitment)

I’ve been getting small projects out of the way until now. I intend to finally finish off the backlog projects I have (Negima AW with AQS, Vampire Bund and Railgun with Chihiro). After I’m done with those, I can finally get to start on my own fansub projects! Chaos Fansubs is currently recruiting, so if you want to join, see the Recruitment link at the top right of this page.

I’m now also part of Fanservice Subs, although I dunno what I’ll be doing. Shunrai and I have coinciding sentiments when it comes to what we want to fansub, so we’re now bros.

In other news, I’ve just joined up with HiNA-Subs to do some doujin scanlation. I think it’s gonna be released as a joint, and I’ll be getting halp on the Chaos Scanlations project from them too, so that’s awesome. But we’re still recruiting!

Chaos Music is still pretty active. I’m working on another collection of music, and I’ll be releasing in both Lossless and Lossy as usual.

However, Chaos Novels is very inactive. I have projects I want to work on but I have no other staff! If you’re interested in translating and/or editing novels, please click the Recruitment link at the top right!

Ani-wave Scans

Returning home yesterday, I picked up a copy of Ani-wave today, and in it are some very interesting pieces of information which I have carefully summarized in these 5 bullet points:

  • New Mecha from the Gundam 00 Movie is known as the GN-0000Q, or Gundam 00 QUANTA. Sounds interesting.
  • Yuki looks cute
  • Angel Beats just got a lot more interesting. Girl with gun? Hell yeah!
  • Yuki is cute again
  • I need to pick up Sora no Otoshimono too.

Gundam 00 Movie slated for September!

September Release Confirmed!

The March issue of the gamer magazine NewType has announced that the slated release date for the previously announced Gundam 00 Movie is September this year!

Unfortunately, no other information is provided, but if you can remember, it’ll hopefully reveal some facts about Jupiter.

My Speculation: Something to do with the making of the TD Blankets (Google this if you don’t know what it is) which require Jupiter’s high pressure.

Gundam UC to premier in HK!

Is Hong Kong just awesome or what? Two live concerts (see previous two posts: May’n and Kalafina) and now a Gundam premier?! In a way, I really love living in HK, but I kinda hate it too. All these events happening in my face and yet I can’t attend the majority of them. I’m hoping I can get tickets to Kalafina (not too interested in May’n), but this is definitely no go for me. Exams begin on Wednesday next week lasting for just over a week (until Thursday the week after), meaning the premier is almost smack-bang in the middle of my exams. I think catching some Gundam in between exams is a bad idea.

Angel Beats, EotE, Disappearance

I think all this info has been published elsewhere (online, Japanese magazines), but I finally bought a copy of Issue 201 of Ani-Wave, the local anime magazine, and I was greeted with some awesome pictures of Angel Beats, Eden of the East and the Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi. Some of these scans have grey sections, that’s because I rotated the images in Photoshop due to my crap scanning skills.

OH TEH DORAMA

I hate fansub drama. Really. I should just quit after this season.

Why? I have just become the target of fansub dorama attacks. See here.

So now, because I’m in Chihiro, I’m biased. Well he-fucking-llo? I try to maintain a fucking professional attitude. Because I was in a competing group, I merely stated my opinions, and got the fuck out of there. I made no decision, I didn’t “convince” anyone to accept/wait for Chihiro.

Hell, this is all I said on the topic:

I second what Nazo says. I downloaded an episode of CommieRips, and I didn’t really like their editing. Then again, there is an element of preference when it comes to editing. I simply just prefer the way Chihiro does things, one of the reasons why I was easily led to join >_>

SFW is totally out of the scene. Really now. “Striped Panties” was translated as “Wrinkly wrinkly panties”. Who doesn’t know what Shimapan means? D:

Does this look Pro-Chihiro? Okay, maybe a bit. I said that I disliked the editing of Commie, but I also said that it was merely personal preference. I’m entitled to an opinion. As for SFW, obvious facts are obvious. See Ji-Hi’s comparison.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu dropped

Following Crunchyroll’s acquisition of rights to stream Haruka, AQS has officially dropped the show. See the AQS Website for details and the official drop announcement.

We’re still doing Negima AW, however.

Progress made~

I finally got around to finish cleaning the first chapter (and the longest chapter) of the Golden Sun 4-koma. And back to trying to understand what angela says in Asura Cryin’ S2 OP. Any help there would be appreciated. >_>

Fall ’09 watch list

So remember my Spring and Summer watch lists? Well, I ended up not watching most of them. I’m sooooo behind on my anime. Well, I’ll have to marathon them sometime. Now for my Fall watch list.

fall-2009-v2-export1
I’m not gonna bother with explanations, so I’ll just list them.
